The Associated Electrical Services crew from Ashcroft was working at the base of Lime Mountain near Clinton on June 21 when Dan Wadge snapped this shot of an inquisitive Northern saw-whet owl, who was presumably wondering what all the noise was about.

Saw-whet owls are one of the smallest owl species in North America, with adults ranging from 6.7 to 8.7 inches. They live in tree cavities and old nests, and are described as quite common, but hard to spot.
