The annual February fundraiser at Loon Lake - Winterfest - is well supported by local businesses and residents. The goal is to have some fun and brighten up the winter while helping build and strengthen the community.

During the preparation of the Winterfest activities more than 60 Loon Lake residents volunteered and carried out various tasks to make the weekend a success.

A portion of the money raised is used to fund the operation of the community hall while two-thirds of the money raised is donated to other groups and societies in the community. This year, donations were made to the Loon Lake Volunteer Fire Department, The Clinton Wellness Clinic, The Ashcroft and District Health Care Auxiliary and the Thompson View Manor Society in Ashcroft.

Once again we extend our sincere thanks to all the businesses and individuals in Loon Lake, Ashcroft, Cache Creek and Clinton as well as Kamloops and further afield who supported Winterfest through sponsoring an item for our auction or through a donation.

We thank also all the residents of Loon Lake who joined in the weekend of fun and who so generously bid on the auction items.
