Quilters and crafters welcome

The Clinton Quilters and Crafters Group meets on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Clinton Seniors Centre at 217 Smith Avenue. Bring whatever craft or quilt you may be working on and join in the fun. More experienced crafters are happy to help novices get started. There is a modest drop-in fee. Bring your own lunch.

Still time to nominate

The Spirit of Clinton committee is still taking nominations for the 2016 Citizen of the Year. Nominations will be accepted up to Friday, January 27 at 4:30 p.m. at the Village Office, where information can also be picked up.

The Volunteer Appreciation reception and announcement of the 2016 Citizen of the Year will be held at the Clinton Memorial Hall on Saturday, March 4.

Council meetings

If you want to know what your municipal elected officials are doing for you, make a point of attending the council meetings in your community.

In Clinton, regular council meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesday of each month beginning at 7 p.m.

There is a question period near the beginning of each meeting where residents can make their opinions known about items on that evening’s agenda.
