1. How long have you lived in your community?

I have lived in Ashcroft for 10 years.

2. What is your occupation?

Owner of UniTea Cafe & Lounge.

3. Have you done any volunteer work here? Which group(s)?

Founding member of Winding Rivers Arts & Performance Society, Ashcroft Wellness Festival, Fun Fair and Fall Fair.

4. Have you served before in municipal government or on a Board of School Trustees? If yes, where, when, and for how long?

No.

5 & 6. Which issues are most important to you? How would you address them?

To re-establish community confidence, leadership accountability and broaden our communication with our community. Citizen engagement and restored pride in our community will strengthen and therefore support change.

Promote and attain Economic Resiliency by re-establishing our Chamber of Commerce. I will propose high level Marketing of our local Industry, Businesses, Tourism and Arts & Recreation Communities.

Economic Development is the key. By attracting the right kind of Business or Industry, it will improve our tax base. Through aggressive marketing outreach, we will create awareness of our community’s assets for investors.

More Investment in Arts, Culture, Sports, and Recreation. I would propose a full-time Grant Writer/Marketing position. By increasing available Grants and new Community Partnerships, we will establish a thriving Community.

Reaching out to small neighbouring Communities, including our First Nations, to work more closely together. Collaborating, sharing resources, joint funding opportunities, and thriving as a Region not just as separate communities.

7. Additional comments.

Ensuring our Community Vision is brought to life is very important to me. It is clear the guiding principles and aspirations of our Community have been heard – short term and long term. I see our Community thriving and carrying out this vision as a team effort. Elected Council, Village Staff, Business and Residents working together to create the Ashcroft we all can be proud of.
