Ross Tapping — TNRD Area E /Clinton councillor candidate

1. How long have you lived in your community?

I have lived and worked in the TNRD area since a teenager working at Quilchena/Douglas Lake Ranch areas.

I have owned and operated a ranch in Clinton on the Bonaparte River, which is in the middle of Area E. I attended UBC and received a Business FinanceLaw degree and then operated a large security company in Vancouver.

Then I built a purebred bull breeding operation in the Okanagan. This led to bull sales all over B.C. and for the Clinton ranch.

This also led to Sutton Group real estate franchise in Okanagan and property development.

I currently live in Clinton.

2. What is your occupation?

I am semi-retired and now have the time, business experience, and desire to serve the area if elected.

3. Have you done any volunteer work here? Which group(s)?

No

4. Have you served before in municipal government or on a Board of School Trustees? If yes, where, when, and for how long?

I have volunteered with the Legion and food banks.

5. Which issues are most important to you?

Current issues are definitely the Fire Season and how to deal with it, mudslides due to fires, and water/roadworks in the whole Area E. Issues such as logging, livestock fences. An assisted living complex promised for 7 years in Clinton, are important to a lot of voters.

6. How would you address them?

Experience in business and getting things done is an important quality when dealing with many issues and people.

7. Additional comments.

I do not promise anyone anything, except I will work and vote for what is best for Area E and do my best to represent the voters’ wishes. I would be only one vote, but it will be a strong one.
