Ashcroft RCMP responded to 19 calls for service during the period February 10 to 16.

Dial N for No Drugs

On February 15, police conducted a road check and seized a small amount of marihuana from a driver who was licenced as an “N” driver. A ticket was issued for not having an “N” on the vehicle, and the drugs were seized.

Stolen salt spreader

Between February 13 and 16, a salt spreader was stolen from one of the Ashcroft Indian Band’s trucks. The value of the dispenser is more than $2,000. Anyone with information that can assist the police is requested to call the detachment or Crimestoppers.

Are you missing some marihuana?

On February 16, a clear baggy of marihuana was located in a local parking lot and turned over to police. The amount of marihuana was enough that a person in possession of those drugs could have been charged with trafficking drugs. The drugs will be destroyed.

If you have any information on any police files or crimes, please contact the Ashcroft RCMP at (250) 453-2216 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
