News from Ashcroft detachment.

Safe Halloween

Police want to thank the public for a safe and fun Halloween had by all our trick-or-treaters.

Suspicious vehicle

On October 31, Ashcroft RCMP were advised of a suspicious vehicle parked behind the Ashcroft library on Brink Street. The pick-up truck had a flat deck trailer attached to it, and an Arctic Cat UTV was strapped to the trailer. As reported in last week’s paper, all three vehicles and the two sets of licence plates on the truck and trailer had been stolen from five separate parties in Vernon, Monte Creek, and Kamloops. The owners have all been notified of the recovery of the items.

Any witnesses who may have observed the green Ford pick-up towing the flat deck trailer with the UTV on it prior to October 31 is asked to call the Ashcroft RCMP (if they haven’t already).

Domestic dispute

On October 31, police were advised of a domestic dispute in which one person is now facing charges for assault with weapon. No names are being disclosed as charges have not yet been approved by Crown Counsel and for the privacy of the family involved. There were non-life-threatening injuries involved, which were treated.

Anyone who has information about these files is asked to please contact the Ashcroft RCMP at (250) 453-2216, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
