Lexus impounded

A teenage Langley driver paid the price for driving at nearly 200 kph.

Clinton RCMP have impounded a red Lexus, driven by a 19-year-old Langley resident after it was clocked doing 194 km/h, nearly twice the posted limit.

On July 25 at 2:50 pm, a member of the Clinton RCMP was conducting mobile radar enforcement on Hwy 97 near 83 Mile Rd. when the officer observed a red vehicle passing others. The police officer engaged his emergency equipment and stopped the car.

The teenager was issued a violation ticket for excessive speed which, in this case, carries a fine of $483 as well as a mandatory seven-day vehicle impound.
