Residents escape Clinton house fire

Three people escaped an early morning fire that destroyed a duplex in Clinton.

The Clinton RCMP received a request from the Clinton Fire Department to assist with a residential house fire at located at 6715- 26 Mile Frontage Road, Hwy 97 on Dec.7 at 4:19 am.

Initial reports indicated that all three occupants escaped the duplex style residence unharmed.

Local Emergency Services including the Clinton Fire Rescue and BC Ambulance were on scene. Police investigation determined that there were no other occupants.

A 65 year old male was transported to the Ashcroft Hospital for observation where he was treated and released.

The fire quickly engulfed the residence and appeared to have originated from the unoccupied side where electrical renovations were taking place. The cause of the fire is believed to have started from the renovations. No foul play is suspected in this matter.
