Ellard William Donovan passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Kamloops Hospice on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the age of 81 years.
El is survived by his wife Anita, and children Terry, Rick Enns, Kevin (Debbie) Lukes, Jeanne and Mark Wardell as well as his grandson Michael Lukes.
El was a long-time resident of Loon Lake and was a very active part of the community. He initiated with others in the community to build the Community Hall and the Fire Hall and served as the Fire Chief for twelve years. El and his friend Jim Edwards jokingly called themselves "Bent Nail Construction". El built, owned and operated the Emerald Resort for 18 years.
El had a real passion for cars and was involved in the area car shows. He owned a '36 Ford and a 2005 Chevrolet SSR show car that he took to events all over BC.
No formal services will be held.
