George also worked at Bethlehem Copper and Lornex mines, being a millwright. He enjoyed his working years greatly until he retired in 1986 at the age of 64. To fill his spare time he had many hobbies in woodworking in his workshop at home, making such projects as wishing wells, chests, trays and jewelry boxes, which found their way into many a friends home as gifts.
