October 2, 1941 - January 5, 2019
It is with deep regret that we announce that Larry Dennis Van Allen passed away in Kamloops, BC on January 5, 2019. He was predeceased by his parents Lucas Claire Van Allen and Joy (Norm) Ritchie. Larry is survived by his brother Carl (Anna) Van Allen; his children, Willy Van Allen. Kellie (Dale) Niessen, Stacey (Ian) McGregor, Teri (Carl) Van Allen and their mother, Judy Stuart; daughter in law Leanne Sturmey; sister Nita Van Allen; niece Treena; stepchildren Corey and Shawna Leader and their mother Dianna. Grandpa V is also survived by numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

Born in Vancouver, BC on October 2, 1941, Dad spent most of his life in and around central BC and spent the better part of his adult years living in Cache Creek. He served aboard the HMCS Skeena in the Navy and worked as a firefighter in his youth but spent most of his life behind the wheel of a truck. He volunteered for years with the Elks, the Cache Creek Volunteer Fire Department, and the Cache Creek Recreation Commission. He loved hunting and fishing and being in the outdoors.

Larry will always be remembered for the mischievous glint in his eye he would get when he'd crack a joke or tell you what he was thinking.

We would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at the Royal Inland Hospital for their care and attention and to say a special thanks to the close friends that not only helped keep an eye on him but also helped keep him smiling over the past few years.

Private services will be held.
