Linda Ann Collins

nee Dougherty


Linda Ann Collins was born in the old Lady Minto Hospital in Ashcroft on January 12, 1964. She passed away on June 20, 2010 in the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops with her family at her side.

Linda was the daughter of the pioneer Dougherty family of Maiden Creek Ranch, where she spent most of her life. She is survived by her loving daughters, Tyra Rae Schalles (Nic) and Bobbi-Lynn Collins and their father Jimmie Collins; her mother and step-father Helene and Bud Cade; brothers Chuck (Katy), Ray (Jody), Ken (Teri) Dougherty, step sisters Sheryl (Wayne) Walch and Colleen (John) Engelhart and special older “sister`` Dawn (Murray) Smith, eight aunts, one uncle, 48 cousins, many nieces and nephews and many good friends. She was predeceased by her father Charles Dougherty in 1973.

A Celebration of Linda’s life was held at the Clinton Elementary School on June 30th and a Funeral Mass was celebrated by Father Ignatius Arsenius on July 9th, followed by the placing of her ashes beside those of her father at the `Little Ranch` above Maiden Creek.

Linda fought a courageous battle for the last seven years. Now she is at peace.
