Viva Jane Park

We regret to announce the passing of Viva Jane Park on March 6, 2010. Viva was born to Henry and Annie Grinder on Big Bar Mountain, BC on November 27, 1939. In her early years Viva was taught the values that she lived with all her life; family and caring for others were always the most important to her.

She is predeceased by her parents “Papa” Henry and “Gramma” Annie Grinder, her brothers Ralph, Floyd, Howard, husband Monty Park and daughter Donna-Rae. She is survived by sisters Jean (Roy), Dolly (Tommy), Marge, Bernice (Jack), brothers Roy (?) and Kenny (Colleen). Left to miss her are daughters Janette (Michael), Monica and Bobbi-Dee (Ryan), and son Kevin who will fondly remember their many trips together. Nana will be missed dearly by granddaughters, Madelyn (Corwin), Melissa, Kristina, Kelsey, grandson Kody and Melissa’s children Kaylyn and Braeden. In addition a large extended family of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews will all remember her fondly.

Her “better-half” of the last 25 years, Richard (Dick) Green, his daughter Sarah (Scott) and our family will miss the trips, the stops at the casino and times spent together with friends. Vi was someone that everyone liked when they met her and will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 20th, 2010 at 1 P.M. in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Clinton, BC followed by a gathering of family and friends at the Clinton Community Centre at 2:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Clinton or the Canadian Cancer Society. Internment at the New Clinton Cemetery to follow at a later date.
