We would like to extend our gratitude for Ashcroft Community’s generous response to the Canadian Red Cross Japan Earthquake/Asia Pacific Tsunami appeal.
Individuals, corporations and groups within our communities pulling together to support recovery efforts for our neighbours in Japan is a true measure of our Canadian humanitarianism. Your thoughtfulness for the people of Japan in a time of great need is so appreciated. You and your supporters have every reason to be proud of your efforts and the funds you raised.
Your gift is being used to support the Japanese Red Cross response as they continue to help affected communities recover and rebuild in the months and years ahead. One of the ways in which your funds are being used is in providing 70,000 new homes (being built by the Japanese government) with a package of six household appliances, a project that will benefit more than 380,000 people.
