Wonderful PAC fundraiser

A reader writes in praise of a community event that raised more than $10,000 for the Cache Creek Elementary School PAC.

Dear Editor,

I would like to pass along sincere congratulations to the Auction Committee from the Cache Creek Elementary School Parent Advisory Council and their many volunteers for the successful event that so many attended on Saturday, February 25 at the Cache Creek Community Hall. Over ten thousand dollars was raised!

The meal was an absolutely delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings prepared by Cheryl’s Place Restaurant, and after the hibernation of winter it was wonderful to reconnect with so many friends and neighbours.

The auctioneer was so amazing, and the music (from DJ Tom Moe of Rolling Thunder) and dancing were also really fun. There was an amazing array of auction items, all donated; some from local supporters and businesses, some from Kamloops or even further away. Cute penguin-themed table centres and decorations made by students were everywhere.

It was great to see the support for the school from those attending; not only from Cache Creek but also from surrounding communities. After all, what is more important than our children and youth and our local school?
