A fire that broke out in a garage and workshop in Ashcroft just before 10:00 a.m. on April 26 completely destroyed the structure and a storage container beside it. Ashcroft firefighters managed to control the blaze and save nearby structures. The owner of the Tingley Street property says he was using an electric pump to remove gas from a car, and suspects a leak in the pump caused the fire, which is under investigation. No one was injured.
