Health Care Auxiliary

After having to delay the Clinton Health Care Auxiliary AGM twice due to lack of sufficient members, the Annual General Meeting was held on Tuesday, March 21.

With several new members coming on board, the election of officers was held.

Jill Comeau is president, Elaine Marchant is vice-president, Lily Barnett is secretary, and Donna Walch is treasurer. There are also several directors.

The HCA meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month, so the next one will be on April 11 at 1:30 p.m. in the Clinton Health Centre. Discussion will be around creating a parade float for the May 27 Clinton Annual Parade. More members are welcome to attend.

Village provides grant-in-aid

At the March 8, 2017 regular Village of Clinton council meeting, council approved four requests for free meeting room usage, totaling $1,320, for 2017. This is in addition to the $10,000 grant-in-aid for the operations of the South Cariboo Historical Museum Society, which was approved at the February 22, 2017 meeting of council.

The recipients of the grant-in-aid requests this year were the Villa Society (eight meetings per year, $240); the Clinton Annual Ball Committee (12 meetings per year, $360); the Clinton and District Community Forest (12 meetings per year, $360); and the Clinton and District Assisted Living Society (12 meetings per year, $360).

Council recognizes the importance of volunteer groups to the community, and wishes to support the ongoing efforts of all community groups.
